MUMBAI: Hollywood director John Hughes passed away in New York on 6 August. He was aged 59.
Hughes reportedly died of a heart attack while taking a morning stroll in New York.
He wrote and produced the highly successful Home Alone film series starring Macaulay Culkin.
The director wrote and directed several films that were popular in the 1980s, including The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, 16 Candles and Pretty In Pink amongst others.
Hughes is also credited with helping launch the careers of bands including The Psychedelic Furs and Simple Minds.
He last directed Curly Sue in 1991.
