MUMBAI: EPIX has launched its new initiative – EPIX Megaplex, which will deliver the industry’s most expansive online collection of movies to EPIX subscribers at epixhd.com.
EPIX Megaplex will deliver to its subscribers an unmatched breadth and depth of movie titles. Ultimately, EPIX Megaplex will surpass the number of online movies available from any streaming offering. The movies will be available through EPIX’s distribution partners.
EPIX Megaplex is also distinguished by a major migration of movies from analog to digital format. The digital conversion effort, which will be completed in 2010 and is well underway, will include classic library titles, franchises, award winners and genre films – many of which have never before been digitized. EPIX studio partners Lionsgate, MGM and Paramount have a combined catalog of movies, which today totals more than 15,000 films including the James Bond and Pink Panther franchises, the Indiana Jones and Star Trek franchises, The Godfather, Forrest Gump, Braveheart, Crash, Monster’s Ball and the Saw and Tyler Perry franchises.
"EPIX Megaplex is an unprecedented push to create the largest and most in-depth catalog of movies continuously available online to our subscribers. We have begun a digital migration that will help our distribution partners offer the deepest movie programming option to their customers. We see this as a chance to further uphold our commitment to EPIX subscribers: building a service that delivers on the anytime, anywhere, any platform promise," said EPIX chief digital officer Emil Rensing.
