MUMBAI: Comcast International Media Group (CIMG) has inked a host of licensing deals totaling over 140 programming hours for the territories of Australia, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines and South Korea.
"CIMG has built a solid reputation as producers of high quality, unscripted entertainment that performs well for general entertainment and lifestyle channels across the region. Programming from E! and The Style Network provides an exciting complement to local dramas and movies and has proven popular with advertisers. Golf Channel and G4 catalogs with programming perfectly targeted to male audiences have seen a spike in popularity along with Asia’s growing interest in gaming, technology, golf and lifestyle," said CIMG managing director, Asia Pacific Christine Fellowes.
The deals include: Foxtel in Australia has picked up the new G4 series 2 Months, $2 Million for Fox8; VH1 in India has also licensed the hit G4 series, as well as E!’s Streets of Hollywood and the popular weekday strip The Daily 10; MoviePlus in Japan has acquired Live From the Red Carpet: The 2010 Academy Awards, E! After Party: The 2010 Academy Awards, Behind the Scenes, and select episodes of The E! True Hollywood Story; Malaysia’s 8TV has taken Streets of Hollywood, while New Zealand’s Food TV has ordered Versus’ All Star BBQ Showdown andBBQ Championship.
In the Philippines, Velvet has picked up Dallas Divas & Daughters, Reality Hell, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, Perfect Catch and season four of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, while Lifestyle Network has acquired the first season of Giuliana & Bill Additionally, ETC has licensed The Dish and Jack TV, Web Soup, for the region.
Finally, in South Korea, XTM has licensed The International Sexy Ladies Show, O’live has picked up Dallas Divas & Daughters,and On Style has acquired seasons one and two of Giuliana & Bill, as well as the special Married Away: Giuliana & Bill’s Italian Wedding.
