MUMBAI: As a strategic move to revamp the organisation, the Film & Television Producers Guild of India has appointedKulmeet Makkar as CEO with immediate effect. Makkar will look after the operations of the Guild and also spearhead the various initiatives undertaken by the industry body from time to time.
Makkar has been part of the entertainment industry for over 21 years and has handled senior management positions in Saregama & Reliance Big Entertainment before taking over the new venture Shreya Entertainment as president and CEO.
"I am honoured to be part of this prestigious and most respected industry body and would like to express my gratitude for the trust and confidence shown by the council of management in me. I am looking forward to working with the Film & Television Producers Guild of India,” said Makkar.
Film & Television Producers Guild of India president Ramesh Sippy said, "We welcome an accomplished professional like Kulmeet to our team. He not only brings with him organisational skills but also a greater understanding of the critical areas such as copyright, commercial laws and other related issues. With the restructuring of the Guild, we now look forward to provide better focus on many of the critical problems faced by the industry today."
