Deepika Padukone is one bold woman. Last year, the actress revealed about herself a fact which indeed requires a lot of courage. Deepika admitted to the world that her mental fitness wasn’t as perfect as it should be. The revealed that she had been suffering from clinical depression during a time when suffering from mental conditions was considered a social stigma. The actress was massively praised by the country for the immense courage she showed to accept the fact and encourage all those suffering similar conditions. The actress has again tried helping her fans suffering from different problems, this time, explaining the remedial benefits of sports.
Deepika chose Facebook to explain to her young fans the benefits of taking up a sport. It isn’t a secret that the damsel comes from an athletic background. Her father is a national level badminton player and Deepika too is excellent at the sport. She motivated the youth by explaining how playing the sport helped her fight depression. The girl posted:
“Sport has taught me how to handle failure. It has also taught me how to handle success. It has kept me grounded. It has taught me humility.”
Deepika also mentioned how the sportsman inside her never let her give up the will to fight. She wrote, “When I was growing up my father said to me, “To be the best, always remember the three D’s – Discipline, Dedication and Determination. Follow your heart. Do what you are passionate about.
Two years ago I struggled with depression. I was sinking. I almost gave up. But it was the athlete in me that gave me the strength to fight and never ever give up! And so I want to say to every girl and every boy and every woman and every man…play a sport…because it changed my life…and it will change yours too! The sport has taught me how to survive! It has taught me how to fight! It has made me unstoppable!”
The message tagged along with a music video which is produced by a sports brand. The video shows the actress working out in a gym with many women playing various sports in the background.
Deepika indeed will inspire millions through this message. You go, girl!
