Cinemax India posts net loss of Rs 21.7 million in Q4

MUMBAI: Multiplex chain operator Cinemax India posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 21.7 million (Rs 2.17 crore) for the quarter ended 31 March, 2011.

In the three months period ended 31 March, 2010, the company had registered a net profit of Rs 44.4 million (Rs 4.44 crore).

Cinemax India’s consolidated net sales for the quarter under review declined 19.79% at Rs 364.3 million (Rs 36.43 crore), compared to Rs 454.2 million (Rs 45.42 crore) in the three months ended 31 March, 2010.

For the year ended 31 March, 2011, the company’s net profit saw a major decline at Rs 54.5 million (Rs 5.45 crore), as compared to Rs 169.7 million (Rs 16.97 crore) in the same period of previous year.

Cinemax’s net sales were up by 12.47% during the year ended 31 March, 2011 at Rs 1.92 billion (Rs 191.56 crore), as compared to Rs 1.7 billion (Rs 170.32 crore) in the year ago period.
