MUMBAI: “I think it is very very unfair to target him about a having a party,” says filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhar about the avalanche of accusations that have come Shah Rukh Khan’s way after the party that he apparently had at his residence post the release of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Akhtar says, “I think it’s very unfortunate. We didn’t have any party. The thing is, Shah Rukh had a screening of our film in his house. All of us were there. After the screening we all chatted up and had a nice cozy time. I don’t know why that get-together was misconstrued as a sinful evening wrapped in an alcoholic haze. I think wrong images of people arriving at and leaving from his house are being shown on television. Those images are are not from the night when we were at Mannat.”
What about the fact that it was Katrina Kaif’s birthday party?
Akhtar reasons wrily, “It can’t be helped if she was born on the day after the film’s release, or if we happened to be all together when it was her birthday. There are no choices as far as one’s date of birth is concerned. We did feel happy for Zoya and we were at Shah Rukh’s but to make it sound like a wild party is totally uncalled-for.”
