‘Miss Lovely’ is to be screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the 65th Cannes Film Festival this year.
A departure from the conventions of contemporary Hindi film, ‘Miss Lovely’ is set in the lower depths of Mumbai’s ‘C’ grade film industry and follows the story of two brothers, who are producers of sleazy horror films in the mid-1980s.
Ahluwalia’s movie will be showcased alongside 16 other movies from different countries in this section.
The festival, to be held May 16-27, will be visited by Bollywood actresses Aishwarya Rai, Mallika Sherawat, Sonam Kapoor and Bipasha Basu.
