BOX OFFICE: ‘Kai Po Che’, Still The Clear Winner At 10 Days

MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures’ ‘Kai Po Che’, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav, is doing well at the box office, post a steady 10 day run.

The film, starring three rank newcomers, has managed to rake in a respectable Rs 276.5 million (27.65 crore) in its first week of business. The second weekend too brought in good cheer, with ‘Kai Po Che’ seeing a steady number at Rs 108.5 million (10.85 crore) net.

As reported, ‘Kai Po Che’ opened with a very decent opening day figure of Rs 43 million (Rs 4.3 crore) on 22 February, Friday, when it released in theatres. Day 2- Saturday saw a vast jump with collections at an approximate Rs 61 million (Rs 6.10 crore) net, while Day 3 Sunday brought an even higher business of Rs 70 million (Rs 7 crore) net.

The business in the opening weekend was in the range of Rs 174 million (17.4 crore) net.

The first Monday witnessed fairly good collections of Rs 31.5 million (3.15 crore). On Day 5- Tuesday, ‘Kai Po Che’ raked in a consistent Rs 26.3 million (2.63 crore) net.

‘Kai Po Che’ has emerged the clear winner at the box office this weekend too, with this week’s other big releases – the John Abraham starrer rom-com ‘I, Me aur Main’ and Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘The Attacks of 26/11’ failing to make a mark at the ticketing windows.
