3 Idiots’ marketing blitzkrieg: Aamir Khan disappears

MUMBAI: Trust Aamir Khan to come up with something unique every time his movie is up for release. As the release of 3 Idiots nears closer, Khan is on the run as part of an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that has been conceived.

The game has been conceived by Zapak along with Khan and uses the real world as a gaming platform. While Khan’s co-stars from the film – Kareena Kapoor, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi were present along with producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Rajkumar Hirani at a press conference to announce the game, Khan was missing in action. However, via a video message he said that he will travel through India leaving clues about his whereabouts and the participants of the game get two weeks to track him down.

"Everyone is welcome in this game. I will play this game with you and my audiences. If you are watching this video, you are already a part of the game," Khan said in a recorded video message He will be in disguise while he travels and the people have to spot him. He will disclose where he is within 48 hours after he gives the clues.

A point will be given to every clue solved correctly and the ones who collect seven points will be declared winners. The winners will get a chance to celebrate New Year’s Eve with Khan and his family. The first clue was provided by cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on 11 December, 2009.

3 Idiots is slated to release on 25 December, 2009.
