MUMBAI: To add to the anticipation of Aamir Khan’s directorial debut that is based on the life of a quirky eight-year old, CNN-IBN and IBN 7 have launched the ‘Taare Zameen Par Contest’.
This initiative is a celebration of children; their endearing qualities and special talents that can win them the opportunity to meet Aamir Khan. Taking the form of a contest, parents are encouraged to nominate their children by sharing what makes their child special. The contest will be concluded with a special half-hour where the seven lucky winners will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform before Aamir Khan and spend time with him. The show, set in a Mumbai school, will air on 20 December on CNN-IBN & IBN 7.
Taare Zameen Par is the story of a young boy who is special in an unconventional way and whose interests, elders around him, fail to understand. Based on this, the ‘Taare Zameen Par Contest’ has been devised that encourages and acknowledges every child’s special gift, regardless of how unusual it might appear.
During the show, Aamir Khan walks through the school reminiscing his own wonder years, his favourite teachers and his favourite moments as a student.
