MUMBAI: Abhishek Bachchan flagged off the awareness run against drug abuse held on 27 March in Mumbai, on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of Narcotics Control Bureau – a national nodal agency for all drug related matter.
The star spoke on how citizens could help lend a hand to fight against the cause along with the NGOs working with the Government since the chain of supply and demand reduction cannot be done in isolation.
Says a source, “Abhishek Bachchan has always been a socially responsible citizen, even in his choice of endorsements. He is looked upon as an actor who is very grounded with his moral ethics in place hence he seemed apt to address the subject of drug abuse on the occasion of the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Silver Jubilee.”
On being thanked for taking time out of his busy schedule to speak about the cause, Bachchan made mention that schedules should be worked around causes such as these –spoken like a truly responsible Indian citizen.
