Adlabs’ Rs. 3.9 billion film deal to present films

Mumbai: Corporate house Adlabs is turning Bollywood’s Indie filmmakers into mini-production houses by signing multi-film deals with them. They have struck a deal worth Rs. 390 crores with four film makers.


According to this, Adlabs will present 10 films with Vipul Shah within 3 years for a deal of 210 crores, 10 films with Ram Gopal Varma in 2 years and 3 films with Prakash Jha over a span of 2 years.

Manmohan Shetty, CMD, Adlabs Films Ltd. mentioned to us that Adlabs will look at the viability of a project and expertise of the person to make them a part of this venture.

Speaking about the deal Vipul Shah said “I will direct only 2 out of these 10 films and the first one is Namaste London. The other 8 films will be produced by me and financed by Adlabs.” He further mentioned that his film Namaste London will go on the floors by July end and major portion of the film will be shot in London. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Upen Patel in the lead.

Praveen Nischol, spokesperson for Adlabs confirmed, “Yes Adlabs will be working with Vipul Shah, Ramu, Prakash and Ramesh Sippy also has been finalised but the number of films are yet to be finalised with him.”

When contacted Prakash Jha to confirm the information, he said, “I am currently in London and will give you the information when I reach India.”
