MUMBAI: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is away in Karjat shooting with Vipul Shah for his film, Action Replay. However, the actress is scheduled to perform at IIFA next weekend.
With Shiamak Davar who is choreographing all the acts of the performers, the dance guru is unable to leave Mumbai. So if Mohammad cannot go to the mountain, the mountain must go to Mohammad. And that’s why Davar has made special arrangements for Ash to learn the steps.
Davar has taught the steps of her act to his assistant, who will be placed in Karjat until Ash learns the act. And once she is in Macau, she will rehearse with the dancers.
Davar reminisced about his association with Ash and said, "Most people believe that Ash and I first worked in Subhash Ghai’s Taal. But few know that my association with Ash started when I choreographed her Sufi act at the Miss India competition, where she narrowly lost to Sushmita Sen. After that we did the famous Nakshatra commercial in the Nairobi desert. Then came Taal. The last show we did was The Unforgettable Tour."
Ash’s dance shows are few and far between and her performance at IIFA is certainly worth waiting for.
