MUMBAI: Eros International will hold a star studded special preview screening for Jag Mundhra’s Provoked on 3 April 2007 at the Empire Leicester Square in London.
The special preview will be attended by members of the film’s cast and crew, including Aishwarya Rai, who performs the pivotal role of Kiranjit Ahluwalia, the Asian woman who overturned the British judicial system on the issue of domestic violence. Ahluwalia herself is also expected to attend the event.
Provoked stars Aishwarya Rai, Miranda Richardson, Naveen Andrews, Rebecca Pidgeon, Nandita Das, Robbie Coltrane and Deborah Pidgeon. The film, based on Kiranjit’s biography Circle of Light, penned by Rahila Gupta, follows her lonely struggle in an abusive 10-year marriage, her retaliation through the murder of her violent husband and the efforts of women activists, the Southall Black Sisters, to bring her justice.
Provoked is set for a 6 April 2007 worldwide release.
