Amal Allana named chairperson of National School of Drama

MUMBAI: The President of India has appointed Amal Allana as the chairperson of the National School of Drama Society, the theatre training institute of India, for a second term of four years with immediate effect.

Allana is an eminent theatre personality and has directed several plays, a number of which have won national and international awards. She has received many honours including awards from Delhi Natya Sangh (1994), Sahitya Kala Parishad (1996), NEFA (1991), Czech TV (1982) and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Direction (1998).
