Mumbai: The cast and crew of B R Films’ forthcoming film Bhoothnath came together on Saturday evening to unveil the look of the film and of Bachchan’s character in the film.

In Bhoothnath, Bachchan essays the title role playing the imaginary friend of a child named Banku. Bhoothnath is a friendly ghost.

"As an audience one doesn’t see Bachchan too often in such a get up with moth-eaten hair, unkempt hair, long nails and untidy look. Therefore we decided to hold a curtain raiser to reveal his look," says producer Ravi Chopra.

Bachchan’s character has been designed by Muneesh Sappel, who has previously worked as an art director and costume director in films such as Pinjar, Dor and Paheli.

Commenting on his character, Bachchan said, "Initially I was very hesitant to essay this role, but after I had several sittings with the director Vivek Sharma, he managed to convince me finally and Ravi was always confident that I would essay this role well."

The costumes in the film have been designed by Aki Narula and Marching Ants is working on the publicity design of the film.

Innovative standees of Bhoothnath have been placed in multiplexes showing the ghastly character of Bhoothnath as if it were emerging from behind the wall.
