MUMBAI: Filmmaker Aziz Mirza’s son Haroun Mirza will soon wield the megaphone.
According to sources, Haroun has been working on the script for a long time. Aamir Khan, who has seen the script, has been very impressed with it and has promised to do the film after he completes filming his remake of Gajini.
Both Aziz and Haroun Mirza were unavailable for comment. Aziz Mirza has earlier directed films like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and Yes Boss, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. The three formed their own production house, and made films like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Chalte Chalte.
Haroun has assisted his father during the making of these films. He also assisted filmmaker Amol Palekar during the making of Paheli and has also acted in Mirza’s serial Naya Nukkad, as well as played the lead in Yash Raj Films’ Humko Ishq Ne Maara.
Incidentally, Haroun Mirza features on the board of directors of Shah Rukh Khan’s production house – Red Chillies Entertainment, which makes ad films.
