Actress Ayesha Takia is charged up about the release of her Dor, directed by Nagesh Kukonoor. The film is said to be inspired by a true story that occurred in Saudi Arabia and is based on a woman’s struggle to save her husband’s life. The story of the film traces two friends who migrate to Saudi Arabia on account of their jobs.
One of the friends kills the other and is sentenced to death. The killer’s wife then begins the search for the friend’s widow, who is the only one who can save her husband’s life, because a widow’s pardon under Islamic law can save a convicted man’s life. The film is said to have been shot in parts of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.
