MUMBAI: Debutant director Sanjeev Baalath’s The Flag is being readied for an August 2007 release.
The Flag is a period film based in 1941, in the Kantakpur village of Gujarat. Adds Balaath, “We recreated an entire village in Kantakpur, which is a few kilometers from Bhuj, where Aamir Khan’s Lagaan was shot. Like the Lagaan set, we too would not be dismantling our sets, but will retain it as a tourist attraction. Already, a major shooting schedule has been completed at this location. We plan to release the film in August 2007, around Independence Day.”
The film stars Ashmit Patel, Rahul Dev, Milind Soman and Vijay Raaz. The film will also introduce three new girls in the female leads.
