Ghar, the film starring Vinod Khanna and his sons Akshaye and Rahul, has been in the news over the past fortnight. The film which is being produced by Johny Bakshi is tipped to be made at a budget of around Rs 70 million. Bakshi has been behind titles such as Vishwasgaat, Mera Dost Mera Dushman, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Ayegi, Papa Kahte Hai , Sardari Begum, Gudyaa, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Saaz, Ek Aur Prem Kahani, and Gudgudi.
Bakshi’s son Brando Bakshi is writing the screenplay with Vikram Bhatt. The script is being penned by Dilip Shukla with Amit Khanna writing the lyrics. Ghar will mount the sets by July end.
The actor father and son team is a trend that has been around for some time. The last one to be released was Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s Bunty Aur Babli and earlier Sarkar. Earlier Sunil Dutt and Sanjay Dutt were seen together in Munnabhai M.B.B.S.
Previously, seen on the marquee together were Prithviraj Kapoor – Raj Kapoor; Raj Kapoor – Rishi Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar – Kumar Gaurav; Dev Anand – Suniel Anand, Dharmendra – Sunny Deol and others.
