Pix announces short film festival

MUMBAI: Sony’s English movie channel Pix has announced a contest for aspiring short filmmakers.

The Pix Short Film Festival will open doors for first time directors to showcase their creativity to the large discerning audience that watches the channel. There is no participation fee and each individual is entitled to multiple entries. All formats (including short films shot on video phones) will be accepted.

To participate in the festival, budding filmmakers have to follow three simple steps: Visit the Pix website, register and take a print out of the SFF form; make an original short film, which does not exceed 30 minutes on any topic; and send the film along with the entry form to the Pix office before 15 July 2007.

We know there’s great talent throughout our great nation, and here’s a chance for them to show millions of PIX viewers their work. You never know who will watch your work and take notice.”

After the selection process, all the best films will be aired on Pix. A handful of the best filmmakers will also be awarded HDD (High Definition) Handycams from Sony.
