BIG Cinemas rolls out Director’s Film Festival at megaplex

MUMBAI: BIG Cinemas, which has opened doors to its first megaplex in Mumbai housing nine screens, has rolled out a Director’s Film Festival.

This festival will showcase the works of 10 prominent Indian film directors like Yash Chopra, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Ram Gopal Varma, David Dhawan, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, Mahesh Bhatt and Imtiaz Ali.

The festival will not only screen movies that are loved by the audience but also directors’ favourites. During the festival, audience will also get an opportunity to personally interact with these directors. The Director’s Film Festival is an attempt by BIG Cinemas to get audience to experience the new megaplex experience for free. The tickets for the film festival have been sold out.

The festival will screen close to 20 films from 15 – 17 September at BIG Cinemas’ Ghatkopar megaplex in Mumbai, which has nine screens and has the capability to screen 45 shows daily with a seating capacity of 2,109.

Yash Chopra / Aditya Chopra: Veer Zaara, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, Silsila, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Mahesh Bhatt: Sadak, Zakhm
Karan Johar: Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
David Dhawan: Partner
Ashutosh Gowarikar: Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar
Ram Gopal Varma: Satya
Rakesh Omprakash Mehra: Rang De Basanti
Farhan Akhtar: Dil Chahta Hai, Don
Kunal Kohli: Hum Tum, Fanaa
Imtiaz Ali: Jab We Met, Socha Na Tha, Love Aaj Kal
