MUMBAI: Call it coincidence but every actress who has worked with director Madhur Bhandarkar gets an award. Tabu bagged the best actress award in Chandni Bar, followed by Raveena Tandon in Satta, Konkana Sen Sharma in Page 3. Now Bipasha Basu has won an award as best actress in Corporate at Kolkata’s Anandlok Awards.
Producer-director Rakesh Roshan and Hritik also received awards for Krrish.
“It’s a coincidence that all my actresses received awards through my films but like my actress, my producers are also happy with me because I have given good business to them. At the ongoing IFFI festivals in Goa, 900 people who had come see Corporate gave a standing ovation after the film ended,” says Bhandarkar.
As for Bipasha Basu, the actress has so far received one award at Filmfare in 2001 for Best Debut (in Ajnabee). She was nominated in 2003 at Filmfare for Best Villain for Jism, then in 2002 at Filmfare for Best Actress for Raaz.
