Mumbai: Meta 4 Films’ tentatively titled Bits & Pieces, based on an Oriya Novel Akhi, will be part of the Berlin, Rotterdam and Amsterdam Film Festivals next year.
The film is currently being shot non-stop with Rahul Bose, Nandita Das, Dia Mirza, Reema Sen and Suhasini Mulay for a month in Bhubaneshwar. National Award winning director Manmohan Mahapatra directs the film for producer Ashutosh Mahapatra. Mahapatra has Oriya films Agniveena, Trisandhya, Tathapi and Neerab Jhada to his credit.
According to the publicist of the film, “It is a film for the classes and the masses. The film is moderately budgeted at Rs. 15 million (Rs. 1.5 crore) is of a two hour duration. It is being shot at a 30 day stretch in West Bengal and the outskirts of Orissa and will release in May/June 2007.”
