MUMBAI: Kunal Kohli’s ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, as well as Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ featuring an ensemble cast of Jaideep Ahlawat, Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Richa Chadda, both took a slow start on the box-office, friday.
While ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ collected in the range of Rs 56 million (Rs 5.6 crore) net as first day business, Gangs of Wasseypur saw a poor start with Rs 27.5 million (Rs 2.75 crore) net.
‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ which has received mixed reviews may not see any monumental jump from here onwards, and average collections are likely. However ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ which has recieved great reviews overall, is expected to pick up by word of mouth.
