Cinemax to hold fest of global classics

MUMBAI: The Cinemax chain of theatres and the Enlighten Society for Films will hold a festival of the world’s ‘greatest films’ every Sunday morning for 52 consecutive weeks.

Outstanding movies like The Godfather, Citizen Kane, Bicycle Thieves, Satyajit Ray’s Apu Trilogy as well as films directed by veteran directors like Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock and Akira Kurosawa will be showcased across Cinemax properties. The list will also include films rated highly on IMBD.com and by Time magazine.

The event will also recognise films of technical, artistic and creative merit and a compilation of short films will also be incorporated into this ongoing fest. The festival was launched with a media conference chaired by director Farhan Akhtar.
