Leonardo DiCaprio to star in Ridley Scott’s next

MUMBAI: Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio may play the lead in director Ridley Scott’s next venture, based on William Monahan’s adaptation of David Ignatius’ novel, Body of Lies.

According to www.Hollywood.tv founder Sheeraz Hasan, DiCaprio is still ironing out the finer details of the deal with Warner Bros, but has found time to fit the film into his packed schedule. The actor will soon be paired again with Kate Winslet in director Sam Mendes’ Revolutionary Road.

Sources say Scott is already in Morocco scouting for locations and will also be checking out places in Europe, Washington, DC, and the Middle East to shoot Body of Lies.

The film envisages DiCaprio as a CIA agent sent to work with Jordan’s intelligence chief in Amman to track down an Al Qaeda leader rumoured to be planning attacks against America.

Monahan and Scott came on board the project in 2007, when Warner bought Ignatius’ novel, titled Penetration at the time. The two have previously worked together on Kingdom of Heaven and Tripoli, which hasn’t been filmed yet, reports Hasan.
