MUMBAI: CNN International will soon launch a new half hour monthly movie based show titled The Screening Room.
The new show, that premieres on 30 March 2007, will offer an international perspective on the world of film and will showcase all aspects of the movie business. Hosted by British television presenter Myleene Klass, The Screening Room features a mix of insights, interviews and on-location reporting from film festivals and red-carpet events.
From independent and world cinema to blockbusters and documentaries, The Screening Room will offer movie news, reviews and global charts. Each show will explore the art of actors, directors, composers and screenwriters, says a channel release. It will also travel to essential film festivals: from L A to London, Tokyo to Tribeca, Sydney to Sundance.
The Screening Room will also cover in-depth features ranging from animation, documentaries and short films to issues such as the perils of piracy. The Screening Room is supported by a microsite, www.cnn.com/thescreeningroom, which launches on 30 March, where users can download episodes of the show, read Myleene’s monthly blog as well as movies reviews and news. The episode will be aired on 30 March 2007 at 11 pm, with a repeat on 31 March at 1 pm and 7 pm and on 1 April at 5 pm and 11 pm.
