MUMBAI: NDS, a provider of technology solutions for digital pay-TV, announced that Digital Entertainment Networks (DEN), the new entrant in the Indian digital cable market, has selected a suite of NDS digital broadcasting solutions to launch the company’s digital cable service.
NDS will provide DEN with the VideoGuard conditional access system (CAS), MediaHighway middleware and an advanced electronic program guide (EPG). NDS VideoGuard conditional access and DRM is used by 82.7 million active subscribers, and NDS middleware has been cumulatively deployed in 76.4 million devices, enabling operators around the world to provide enhanced services to viewers.

NDS’ R&D facility in Bangalore, which has been operational for eight years and now employs close to 800 people, will be leading the development of a state-of-the-art solution for DEN. This development center is instrumental in designing unique solutions tailored to the Indian audience.
