MUMBAI: The Walt Disney Company (India) has declared six year old Mumbai citizen Kashish Gorawara as the winner of the countrywide search titled- ‘Disney Princess 06-07’.
Bollywood actor Dia Mirza crowned Kashish at Mumbai’s Famous Studios. Kashish won the title beating over 1000 shortlisted participants in a search that spanned Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
The event began in December 2006. Participants were shortlisted on the basis of their creativity, self expression and confidence. The final winner was chosen through an audience poll across India.
Says Walt Disney Television International (India) executive director – production and programming Nachiket Pantvaidya, “The overwhelming response received for the Disney Princess search reiterates Disney’s strong emotional connect with our audience and exemplifies the company’s focus on content, creativity and innovation and demonstrates our ability to provide a 360 degree entertainment experience for kids.”
