MUMBAI: She openly claims to have little knowledge about the Gentleman’s game, but Diana Hayden has been recruited by the Sahara Group to head communications for their latest venture, their IPL Pune team.
The former beauty queen pageant winner was in Mumbai last night to watch the Kings XI Punjab take on Mumbai Indians at the Braboune Stadium. The match saw a good presence of films stars of the likes of Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Dino Morea to name a few. All the celebrities had donned the Mumbai Indians jersey, while Hayden, already showing her loyalty towards her soon to be formed team, wore a plain blue tee. She said, “Today I was supporting the Mumbai Indians, but come next year it will be for my Pune team. I am really excited and I have expressed my desire to be extremely involved with the day to day activities of running an IPL franchisee.”
Hayden however confessed, “I have never really played the game. But I have actually got hit by a cricket ball while I was crossing a maidan where a game was in progress, and I can tell you that it was very painful.”
Hayden has been living in the United Kingdom for some time now, but came into the news as a celebrity guest in the hit television show, Bigg Boss. Her on TV romance with a fellow contestant gave the show a lot of added spice. But now in her corporate avatar, Hayden will have to ensure that her team gets the best players in the forthcoming IPL auctions in September, to ensure that it gets off the blocks successfully.
