MUMBAI: Bombay distributor Dilip Dhanwani, who has just revived his distribution concern with the release of Kumar Sanu’s Utthan, is now making a return to production.
Confirms Dhanwani, “It’s almost five years since I last produced and released Vadh, in March 2002. Now, along with my distribution business, I am revamping the production concern too. This time, I am planning a mega budget venture with a big star cast.”
While his last production, Vadh boasted a cast comprising Nana Patekar, Puru Rajkumar and Anupam Verma, his next film is likely to feature some big names from the industry. Scripting and pre-production work on the film is currently on.
Adds Dhanwani, “On the distribution front, a film’s box office performance does not worry me. I am accepting medium budget movies, be they Hindi, Bhojpuri or other regional ones. I release these movies on a commission basis. On 23 February 2007, I will release Haseena – Smart, Sexy and Dangerous at Alankar cinema in Mumbai and other theatres.”
