Mumbai: DLF is likely to invest about Rs 12.50 billion (Rs 1,250 crores) on expanding its multiplex business by adding about 500 screens in the next four to five years.

DLF Services, a group company of DLF, recently launched its multiplex under the brand name DT Cinemas in Chandigarh.

Located in DLF Infocity at the Rajiv Gandhi Technology Park, the multiplex has three screens with a total capacity of 786 seats.

The multiplex has a state-of-the-art Christie cinema projection system, acoustics, wall to wall carpeting, extra legroom with comfortable slide back seating and push back arm-rests. The movie going experience is further enhanced by ease of booking tickets, ample parking space as well as sumptuous food and beverage options at the candy concession area.

This marks the second stage in the company’s overall strategic development plans to build and operate close to 150 screens all over India.

DT Cinemas CEO Kajal Aijaz said, "We are happy and proud to bring a world class movie going experience to the residents of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. As part of our expansion plans, we will be opening at Savitri-GK2, Shalimar Bagh, Vasant Kunj and Saket in Delhi and at Star Mall Gurgaon this year."

Apart from north Indian cities, DT Cinemas plans to set up multiplexes in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa and Kolkata."
