DQE launches Powerkidz Talent Search

MUMBAI: DQ Entertainment has launched its talent search for children in creative writing and cinematography. The DQ Powerkidz story and script writing competition will be conducted on an all India basis and targets over 800- 1000 schools in the country.

Through this event DQE intends to expose students nationwide to the language of audio visuals with the winning entry turned into a Short Film, produced by DQ Entertainment.

The entries will be judged by a jury consisting of distinguished personalities from the media and entertainment industry. Five best story writers will be short listed and invited to attend a two day interactive children’s audio-visual fiesta which will include visual arts, animation, theatre and creative workshops along with interactive brainstorming sessions for the children to be held at Hyderabad, in January-February, 2011.

The winning entry of DQ Powerkidz contest will be converted into a short film enacted by the writer as well as other supporting cast members selected by DQE. This will be sent for onward submission to the Ciak Junior Film festival – an international contest held in Treviso, Italy. The winner of the DQ Power Kidz talent search contest will also be sponsored to represent the film in Treviso, Italy. Films based on stories written by children from various countries such as Belgium, Chile, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, China, Portugal, Senegal, Slovakia, Spain, India, Switzerland, Bulgaria and South Africa, between the age group of 10 -15 years have participated in the Ciak junior festival each year.

DQE Sr. V.P. BD and Branding Sumedha Saraogi said, "Our aim is to promote creative thought and expression using the Audio Visual medium amongst children. DQ Powerkidz will provide the platform for creative expression for children in the ages of 10-15. We will draw upon our in-house creative talent base of over 3000 artists to conduct workshops for children and ignite their creative spirit. "
