Ekta Kapoor & Neeraj Pandey’s first Marathi film selected for PIFF

MUMBAI: Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Entertainment’s and Neeraj Pandey’s Friday Filmworks’ first Marathi film Taaryanche Bait has been officially selected to participate in the competition section at the coveted Pune International Film Festival (PIFF)

The world premiere of the film is on 10 January, 2011, at 6 PM at the City Pride, Kothrud in Pune. The second screening is on 13 January,2011.

Kapoor said, “Balaji is known to push boundaries in content creation, be it films or television. This is a humble endeavor by Alt Entertainment to create something for the discerning and evolved Marathi-speaking community, which has always been an important audience for our content. I look forward to the response to our first step in this direction.”

Pandey said, “This is an extraordinary story of an ordinary family – a story about miracles and hope in these cynical times. Once we heard the story we just had to do it.”

Taaryanche Bait is the directorial debut of writer, Kiran Yadynopavit, and stars Sachin Khedekar, Ashwini Giri, Vinay Apte, and Kishore Kadam, amongst others.

The film is expected to release in cinemas in April,2011.
