Mumbai: Enlighten Film Company, the creators of the biggest Indian Film Society and Vivek Agnihotri under his banner ‘Vivek Agnihotri Creates’ are set to produce a film titled 12 based on the famous 50’s Hollywood Classic 12 Angry Men!
Enlighten Film Company and Vivek Agnihotri Creates have taken the permission of the right holders of the original play 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose, to make it into a film. This will be the first legally adapted international stage play in India and also give credit to the legendary original playwright – Reginald Rose. The film will be directed by Vivek Agnihotri, who is also producing the film along with Enlighten Film Company.
Says Vivek Agnihotri, "I wanted to adapt this play for a long time. This subject requires a certain responsibility and I wasn’t sure if I was ready. But recent incidents such as the Maharashtra-Northern divide and other prejudices affected me deeply. And I thought its time that this subject must be made as it deals with the biases in democracy. It’s not just a film project anymore, it’s my way of protesting."
