Eros Intl. inks 2 year deal with K Sera Sera

UK based Eros International has signed a two years output deal with K Sera Sera.

MUMBAI: Eros International has signed a two years output deal with K Sera Sera. With this memorandum of understanding (MoA), Eros International will be handling the overseas distribution, music and home video rights for K Sera Sera’s forthcoming movies. Talks are also on for co-productions between the two. However, a definitive agreement is expected to be signed next week.

According to an official release from Eros International, the deal will give Eros access to K Sera Sera’s films for the period agreed upon. Some of the film projects in the pipeline include Nanhe starring Bobby Deol, Dombivili Fast directed by Abbas Mastan, and three Salman Khan films, including Partner directed by David Dhawan.

The release further added that the agreement will help Eros increase its presence in India through co-productions and the acquisition of distribution rights to include music publishing and Indian cinema distribution, which accounts for over 50 per cent of the revenues of the Indian film industry.

Eros chairman and CEO Kishore Lulla said, “This deal demonstrates our content consolidation strategy as outlined at the time of our flotation. We are confident that collaborating with a successful production house like K Sera Sera will help accelerate our growth from co-productions and ensure a steady flow of content through our pipeline.”

K Sera Sera managing director Parag Sanghvi added, “We are delighted to be associated with Eros who has been a pioneer in the Bollywood distribution and entertainment space for over three decades. This output deal allows us to focus on our core competency of film production.”

Omkara, which was released in the overseas market by Eros International, grossed box office revenues of $6.7 million in its first week of worldwide release in August this year.

Recently Eros has also acquired the overseas rights of Zindaggi Rocks, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Iqraar By Chance, Provoked, Salaam E Ishq and Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana.
