UTV to release Bhandarkar’s Fashion with 400 prints


MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures along with director Madhur Bhandarkar unveiled the first look of their forthcoming film Fashion.

The film is being readied for a release on 14 November, 2008 and stars Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut along with debutants Mugdha Godse and Arjan Bajwa. It is co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Bhandarkar Entertainment.

Made on a budget of Rs 220 million (Rs 22 crores), Fashion is Bhandarkar’s most ambitious project till date.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, UTV Motion Pictures executive vice president – creative and project Ram Mirchanadani says, "We will be releasing the movie in November with approximately 400 prints worldwide. Apart from the production budget of Rs 220 million, an additional Rs 70 – 80 million (Rs 7 – 8 crores) will be spent on marketing, prints and publicity of the film."

Bhandarkar adds, "This film is very special to me because it is the first film that I am co-producing under my banner."

The first look of the film gives an insight into the glitzy world of fashion and showcases different facets of the glamour world – from the highs to the lows. The film’s promo opens with the line – "In the world of fashion, you will have to give up more than just your morals." In Fashion, debutant actor Arjan Bajwa is paired opposite Priyanka Chopra.

Speaking about Fashion, Chopra says, "The film showcases an extremely emotional journey of all the characters. Every emotion from failure, victory, rise and fall of the characters have been beautifully depicted."
