MUMBAI: As the first ever movie on the Simpsons hits the screen on 3 August, Excel Home Videos has lined up a series of DVDs of the shows that has propelled its characters to the cult status they enjoy.
The DVDs include The Simpsons Greatest Hits, The Simpsons Heaven And Hell, The Simpsons Around The World, The Simpsons Go To Hollywood, The Simpsns Gone Wild, The Simpsons Crime And Punishment, The Raiders Of The Lost Fridge, The Simpsons.Com, The Simpsons Film Festival and The Simpsons Bart Wars among others.
Excel Home Videos managing director MN Kapasi said, “Keeping in mind its growing popularity in Indian and its theatrical debut we have brought together a plethora of collector DVDs for The Simpsons fans.â€
The Simpsons created by Matt Groening, is a satirical parody of the “Middle American” lifestyle epitomized by its title family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, their dog Santa’s Little Helper and their cat Snowball II.
In India, The Simpsons gained popularity since it began featuring on television over the past years. This is first time that DVDs of the show has been released in such magnitude in India.
The DVDs and VCDs of The Simpsons are available in stores like Planet M, Crosswords, and Landmark among others.
