MUMBAI: While Frankfinn Aviation has big plans up its sleeves in film production, the company has now chosen Welcome to ensure visibility via in-film placement.
In Anees Bazmee directed Welcome that stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif in the lead, Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training hosts a ‘Smart Woman’ contest in Sun City on the occasion of April Fool’s day. As a part of the contest, a girl is supposed to prove her smartness by fooling a man twice. In the scene, Katrina manages to fool Akshay with her pranks not once but twice as the requirement was, and is eventually handed over a trophy and a cash prize.
In a display of in-film promotion, Frankfinn has associated itself with the movie owing to the match in brand values. “Welcome was touted as a fun movie with a lot of comedy angles and our brand values of fun, rebellious and smartness match well with this part of the script,” says Frankfinn head of corporate communications Sameer Valia.
While Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training has Soha Ali Khan as its brand ambassador, Valia informs that there are no plans to replace her with Katrina. “The star cast was a part of the attraction but Katrina Kaif is not our new brand ambassador. Soha Ali Khan has been a part of Frankfinn for almost three years now and continues to be our brand ambassador,” added Valia.
What’s more, this is not the first in-film promotion that Frankfinn has indulged in. In 2004, when Dil Maange More released, Soha Ali Khan was portrayed as a student aspiring to be an air hostess. Consequently, her training was filmed at the Frankfinn Insitute, Mumbai.
Frankfinn is also foraying into film production and progress on the first movie is currently on in Mumbai. Nitin Keni, their consultant on films is looking over their film production. However, until now nothing the cast and director for the film has not been decided upon. Additionally, Frankfinn also has its music label called Frankfinn Music.
