Fun Cinemas to launch 6 screen multiplex at Suncity Project

MUMBAI: Real estate developer Suncity Project has launched its Jewel of India project, which is being touted as a unique retail concept set to revolutionize the retail sector in the country.

Multiplex chain Fun Cinemas will be opening a six screen multiplex at Jaipur’s Jewel of India project. Jewel of India will also house an exclusive entertainment segment plush with a food court and a gaming zone Viking.

With an investment of approximately Rs 20 billion (Rs 2000 crores), Jewel of India is a concept aiming to change the realms of the real-estate industry. It will be a one-of-its-kind destination that promises to offer retail, office spaces, and hospitality and entertainment options. The projects will be spread across India in Mohali, Greater Noida and Indore, besides Jaipur.

Suncity Projects director Ashok Bansal said, "It has been Suncity’s commitment to innovate the realty segment by offering unique concepts to the customers. Jewel of India is an offering that will transform the retail segment of the country by introducing themes that would promote the heritage and handicraft offerings of each region."

Jewel of India, Jaipur, a 40 lacs sq. ft proposition is on the eight lane expressway at JLN Marg is located at the heart of Jaipur.

The 16 lac sq. ft. retail segment of Jewel of India will house retail brands like Lifestyle, Lifestyles Spar Hypermarket, Shoppers Stop, Pantaloon, Westside amongst others. The Jaipur Haat – spread across 1,00,000 sq.ft. – will cater to the demand for traditional Rajasthani offerings. The Johri Bazar – a dedicated jewelry segment and part of the Wedding Zone will provide options of traditional Rajasthani and new age modern jewelry.

The hospitality segment of 2,50,000 sq. ft. is a joint collaboration with one of the top international five star hotels.

Suncity Projects vice president – retail Vijay Arora added, "Jewel of India is one of the most ambitious projects in the retail space and will define new standards in the real-estate sector. Jewel of India will house some of the most prominent brands of the country along with the local handicraft of the region and will redefine the entertainment criteria for the customers."

The Jaipur project will be operational by 2011.
