MUMBAI: FXLabs launched its first PC adventure game Agni, which stars Malaika Arora Khan as the lead character.
FXLabs has partnered with Zapak and Sify to distribute CDs of the game. It will be available for global audiences from 27 February.
Speaking at the launch of Agni, FXLabs founder and chairman Sashi Reddi said, “Agni is the result of our efforts to provide Indian gamers with international quality, content with local flavor at Indian prices. We have pumped in close to Rs 7 crores towards developing this game and Rs 1 crore for marketing.”
The game flows in a story about a mother (Mallaika Arora) who is on the run looking for her lost daughter. Through the task, she undergoes various hurdles and fights them by changing her avatar from a mother to a savior.
The voice over in the game is in Hindi language. The end to end duration of the game is roughly 13 hours. A team of 70 people have worked on developing this game for a period of two years. The game is priced at Rs 459/-. The licenses for Russia, Polland and Hungary have been sold already and the game has been dubbed in the local language to suit the respective markets.
Zapak Digital Entertainment chief marketing officer Arun Mehra said, “Agni is probably one of the first Indian Games that will stand up to international standards. Despite the fact that this is a PC Game we felt it was important to associate with it to promote it.”
Zapak will market and distribute the game through its gameplexes in 11 cities and a tournament which will be flagged off by Malaika Arora Khan in Delhi next week. They will also allow a limited time download of the game on their site.
Sify Technologies chief operating officer CVS Suri said, “We will distribute the game through our 250 game rooms and 1000 cyber cafes across India.”
To market the game, FX Labs has also shot a live action music video interspersed with cuttings from the game, which will be aired across TV channels.
