Shyam Benegal’s Chamki which had been announced with Jimmy Shergil and Urmila Matondkar in the lead was initially being produced by Sheetal Talwar. The film is no longer being produced by Sheetal Talwar now. According to trade papers Sanjay Gupta is the current producer in association with Balaji Telefilms.
The film will star Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Urmila Matondkar. When contacted, Shyam Benegal said ,”Yes the film is no longer being produced by Sheetal Talwar since we had a few differences. But nothing else has been confirmed yet. Only when I sign the papers and finlise the deal I will reveal the details. So far nothing has been finalized. So don’t put make any statements regarding the film”.
