MUMBAI: Here’s good news for the film buffs. The English movie channels HBO is ready to celebrate the onset of the monsoons with a shower of blockbusters. Cutting across many genres humour, action, drama and thrillers the July line-up portrays myriad experiences for all audiences.
Watch Antonio Banderas as Alejandro De LaVega, torn between two worlds in The Legend of Zorro, HBO Blockbuster of the Month premiering on 26 July at 9 pm. When LaVega once again breaks his promise to stop wearing the mask, Elena, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, leaves him and soon begins seeing Armand, a haughty French Count. But a mysterious explosion in the desert leads Zorro to believe that there’s more to Armand than meets the eye, and our hero is intent on finding out what that is.
HBO takes you on a space trip in Zathura: A Space Adventure on 7 July. The story revolves around a pair of bickering brothers who must put aside their differences if they want to survive and save their elder sister, when the board game they are playing comes alive and flings them, together with their house and sister, into outer space.
Feel your adrenalin pacing with Bad News Bears on HBO on 28 July. A modern remake of the 1976 classic tells the story of a baseball coach Morris Buttermaker who agrees to take on a Little League team. It takes everything that the foul-mouthed but good-hearted coach has to shape his inept players into a winning team.
This month HBO gives its young viewers three special reasons to smile. Tune in to HBO Friday Blockbusters at 9 pm and watch the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on 13, 20 and 27 July respectively.
HBO Sunday Superhits brings all-time hits to your TV screen every Sunday night at 8 pm with Steel on 8 July, Meltdown on 15 July, Urban Legends: Final Cut on 22 July and Junior on 29 July.
