Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori starrer Kites to release across 2300 screens worldwide

MUMBAI: Reliance BIG Pictures and Rakesh Roshan’s film, Kites, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori is slated to release across 2300 screens worldwide, in over 30 countries.

This will be Hrithik’s first film after a gap of almost a year and a half. As a result, the makers are leaving no stones unturned in the release and promotion strategy of the film. As far as the release goes, it will probably be the biggest ever Indian release, till date globally. Of the 2300 screens, over 1800 screens are in India and over 500 screens overseas.

Speaking exclusively to Businessofcinema.com, Reliance BIG Pictures CEO Sanjeev Lamba said, "Kites is a wonderful movie, with a strong international flavor and a very new and fresh feel. We are marketing the movie very aggressively across the world."

Kites will be released in two phases. In the first phase, it will release in India, the US, UK, UAE, Australia, South Africa and another 30 other countries on 21 May. In the second phase, the movie will release in additional 30 countries, which include various non-traditional markets.

The film is being staged all across the world. Currently, Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan, Anurag Basu and Brett Ratner have travelled to New York and London for the promotions. Mori and Ratner will also be doing additional promotion in Miami and Los Angeles.

"There has been a tremendous amount of interest among both the Asian, as well as the mainstream media all across," added Lamba.
