IFEA seeks lower import duty in Sri Lanka

MUMBAI: An Indian Film Exporters Association (IFEA) delegation recently met the Sri Lankan Consul General in Mumbai to discuss the high import duty imposed on Hindi films entering Sri Lanka.

Says IFEA secretary general Nandkumar Bele, “The meeting aimed to thwart the high incidences of import duty levied on Hindi films entering Sri Lanka. We requested the consul general that the high duty hampers Hindi filmmakers and should be made at par with other language films that enter Sri Lanka.”

The delegation comprised IFEA president Chandrakant Mehta, secretary Hirachand Dand, Sunil Hinduja, Sushil Jain and Bele.
