Wake Tech & Disney team to inspire area biz

MUMBAI: Wake Technical Community College will host employees of area businesses for a one-day workshop called, Team Creativity: Disney Style.

The event is presented by the Disney Institute, the professional development arm of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

More than 200 employees of area businesses have registered for the training, including employees of local car dealerships, real estate offices, technology companies, banks, hospitals and dental practices. Some local government employees have also registered.

The event will be held at Wake Technical Community College on 13 March.

Participants will learn how to use Disney’s famed “storyboarding” techniques to foster a climate of creativity and innovation. They will also discover how to apply the same successful team building strategies used at the Walt Disney World Resort to their own companies.

Wake Tech’s mission is to educate and train a world-class workforce in the Triangle. This type of leadership training gives workers an edge in a competitive work environment and stimulates growth and productivity for businesses.

Disney Style is a follow-up to The Disney Keys to Excellence, a program offered at Wake Tech last fall. That workshop focused on the management philosophies and customer service techniques that have made the Walt Disney World Resort a benchmark for businesses worldwide.
