Mumbai: Palador has tied up with the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for the Wong Kar Wai Retrospective. Four movies will be screened at the festival namely – In the Mood for Love, Fallen Angels, Happy Together and Floating Clouds. While the first three will be showcased under Cinema of the World section as part of Wong Kar Wai Retrospective, the last has been short listed under IFFI Goa Film Treasures. IFFI 2008 will take place in Goa from 23 November to 2 December.
Palador Pictures founder and MD Gautam Shiknis said, "IFFI is an upcoming international platform. With the support of major film distributors and production houses in India and abroad, it can also become one of the top international film festivals. This year we are participating with four movies and hope to reach a huge number of discerning World Cinema fans across India through it."
He added, "IFFI provides great opportunities through Film Bazaar and this year we have also registered our participation in the same. Through this, Palador intends to explore local and international co-production projects and enter into joint productions starting next year."
"These four films are outstanding examples of World Cinema and it is fitting that IFFI has included them in the festival this year. We are slowly yet surely moving towards creating a distinct space for World Cinema," said Palador Pictures joint managing director and co-founder Mohan Polamar.
