Kasam Dharti Maiya Ki to release on 26 January

MUMBAI: Balaji Exhibitors’ Pappu Ajani and Rajesh Singh, Bombay distributors of Bhojpuri films, plan to release their maiden Bhojpuri home production on Republic Day.

The film, a family drama, is titled Kasam Dharti Maiya Ki, and stars Dineshlal Yadav ‘Nirahua’, Aarti Patel, Dayashankar Pandey and Ajay Sinha, the director himself playing a pivotal role.

Balaji’s last acquisition Ho Gail Ba Pyaar Odhaniyawali Se is currently in its silver jubilee week at Sharad (Chembur) and Anand (Bhiwandi) cinemas in Mumbai.

Says Ajani, “Ho Gail Ba Pyaar Odhaniyawali Se is the first Bhojpuri film to have achieved this feat.” The duo has previously distributed films like Sainya Sipahiya, Chacha Bhatija and Coolie. “Didi Tora Dewar Deewana released by us in five cinemas in Bombay had a collection of Rs 7,52,962,” he reveals.

“We are releasing nine prints of Kasam Dharti Maiya Ki in Bombay with Dreamland as the main centre on 26 January,” adds Ajani.
